Grivel
Grivel
$
Since the mid-1800 s, the Grivel family of blacksmiths began actively influencing the history of alpinism from their small factory in Mont Blanc. Grivel was able to directly address the demands of both the mountains and mountaineers through the exchange of ideas between the alpinists passing by their factory. Based on the designs of the English rock-climber, Oskar Eckenstein, Grivel also invented and began making the world s first modern crampons. Maintaining their traditions by keeping in touch with the mountains and the people who challenge them, Grivel continues to produce their climbing gear in Italy. Standing by their gear, Grivel refuses to trade their heart and soul by transferring it to another country. Grivel has remained at the pinnacle of ice climbing gear reflecting the ever changing, evolving demands of the mountains. Although modern gear reflects these changes, Grivel remains true to its original ideal: make the best product possible using the most appropriate technology and materials, innovate, evolve, and adapt. Only through constant growth, which results from an open mind, can the tools assist rather than restrict the modern climber.

Grivel - G14 New Matic - Accessories
204 $
ShoesPad.com is proud to offer the Grivel - G14 New Matic - Accessories: G14 crampons are equally at home on hard sport mixed routes and high level alpine climbs, torquing in cracks or balancing up here today/gone tomorrow ice features. Forged frontpoints penetrate hard ice better than stamped points and offer the opportunity to combine vertical and horizontal axis. G14 is delivered in a dual point configuration. Placing the same point in different notches on the frame changes the length and inclination of the point, allowing the user to customize the crampon for a particular style of climbing. The mono-point is longer and has a shallower angle of attack than the dual point configuration, which improves rock-climbing performance on modern mixed routes. Spacers to build mono point crampons are included and are simple to configure. The plastic harness is hinged from two front pockets which retain the boot securely even if it has a shallow, worn front welt or overboots being used. Made in bi-component plastic: the black part is the stronger, bearing the strain whilst the yellow part is softer, increasing adherence to the boot. Dual points offer better shear resistance on snow and ice, and they are arguably a bit more stable. Materials: ChroMoly steel. Construction: Hot-forged frontpoints, 3D relief stamped frame. Weight: 1,234 gr.

A hole in the shaft can be used to attach a leash. Tiny anti-slip claw at the end of the shaft. Made from chromally steel. Hot forged construction. Changeable and reverse positive blade.
